The Seroja Smart House Project is an initiative spearheaded by Forka Indonesia to enhance human resource capacity in underdeveloped and isolated rural areas of Indonesia. This two-year program, starting in August 2025, aims to tackle social and economic exclusion by providing IT-based training programs that empower local communities with the skills and networks needed to thrive in the digital age.
The project focuses on building a sustainable development platform through short courses in digital marketing, modern agriculture, tourism, and digital health services. By equipping community members—especially youth, women, people with disabilities, and children—with these practical skills, the program strives to improve their competitiveness both nationally and globally, while contributing directly to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Key stakeholders in this effort include multiple government ministries, local village authorities, non-governmental organizations, academic institutions, and village-owned enterprises. Partnerships with entities such as the Ngambarsari Village Government and the Surakarta Health Human Resources Unit ensure that both strategic coordination and on-the-ground implementation are strong and community-driven.
With a proposed budget of CHF 200,000 (IDR 3.55 billion), the Seroja Smart House will be a beacon of inclusive development. Beyond training, the project will also build local infrastructures and economic ecosystems to ensure long-term sustainability. Forka Indonesia is committed to inclusive participation, ensuring the protection and empowerment of all groups involved through informed consent protocols and community-based safeguarding practices.
